Absolutely LOVED our time at the Eco Hut. It was a perfect way to end a jam-packed Tassie tour. Very relaxing setting, very close to the beach. The Eco Hut itself has absolutely everything thought of. I was surprised to see even spare drink bottles. Really appreciated all the thought and consideration into all the extras. LOVED the outside shower. LOVED the outside loo. Never had better views in either of these departments before. The Eco Hut itself was very comfortable. Loved all the furniture and ability to move as you please. We easily chilled by day, then explored the area end of day – perfect. There were 5 of us, 3 kids easily slept on mattresses provided in the communal space. Kids loved the beanbag and smooth wooden floors.

Thank you for the most wonderful Eco Hut – loved the position, the shower and toilet outside. We enjoyed the smell of the bush and the sound of the surf. We did enjoy all Tasmanian quality in food and wine. Thanks, the hut had everything we needed. Even the pilates/yoga mat and pillows.

How brilliant in simplicity of design is the Eco Hut!! Is the owner an architect/or designer? Blending the natural environment into the hut, the bush with windows of views of the sea (so much better than sea frontage). I loved the morning Kookaburras and evening wallabies feeding in front. Great taste in furnishings and crockery to suit. Enjoyed Tas (as always) – the fresh food (from roadside), fish, wine, etc. Enoyed our coastal walks and trip to Pyengana, St Columba falls. Thank you

The eco cabin is a thoughtfully designed space, comfortable and clean and in a wonderful location. Because of its design the cabin stayed beautifully warm day and night, without us even needing to light the fire. The outside amenities are absolutely fine. The shower is hot and the toilet flushes-what more do you need? We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to others who appreciate an opportunity to live simply, close to nature, but in complete comfort.

This is a great place to stay if you appreciate eco-conscious touches such as off grid lights, a separate toilet out the back and a superb outdoor shower, protected from the breezes, but with a great view to the bush. The whole building is newly built and stylishly furnished with high end linen, comfortable bed, enough kitchen utensils and equipment to self cater, including a great BBQ on the deck. You can hear the sound of the waves if you open the windows and there are nice glimpse of Binalong Bay thought the tress. Highly recommended.

Great experience! You feel completely alone in the bush while only a couple minutes walk from the beach. We used it as a home base for travelling around the area, and was a really relaxing place to spend the evenings over a couple glasses of wine and local produce.

A secret hideaway that is everything it says it is.👌👏We loved our stay so close to the sea but with privacy amongst the Bush and the birds. Super comfy bed which though a double was excellent says my 188cm husband. Sparkly clean – everything we needed was there and Jan was very helpful providing an emergency iron and board. Communication between us was exceptionally thoughtful and efficient. Will stay again and longer next time!

This hut is elegant in its simplicity and has been designed with great thought. Pared down to essentials, it allows you to just be and appreciate the local environment. Quick walk to the beach or just sit listening to the birds reading a good book. Clean, comfortable and private – we felt instantly at home. Makes me want to get an outdoor shower of my own! Had a fantastic stay, it’s a great place and covered our needs perfectly. Great kitchen which allowed us to cook dinners both nights and definitely enjoyed showering with a view of the stars. Short walk to the beach which had some beautiful examples of the lichen covered rocks and well situated for quick access to St Helens and the rest of the Bay of Fires area

Very restful and refreshing stay.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the EcoHut! The hut is just walking distance from Binalong bay and nicely hidden among bushland within a friendly neighbourhood. It’s also well equipped for a self sufficient stay. We prepared full meals in the kitchen (do groceries at St. Helens). Although the toilet is outdoors, it’s a perfectly functioning flushing toilet, and the outdoor shower was wonderful. The lack of WIFI and television was daunting at first, but actually contributed to a very very restful and refreshing stay! The shelf of board games and puzzles was a nice touch

The Eco Hut was amazing! We loved our 3 nights in paradise. Quiet, private with sliding doors opening up onto the Bush. Loved the beanbag, the lack of WiFi and TV. Perfect for disconnecting for a few days. The outdoor toilet took a bit of getting used to in the evening (you can’t see the paddy melons but you’ll here them!) but we loved the outdoor shower. Everything was spotless and they had provided everything you need. The caretakers are very helpful if you need anything.

We had a great experience. Booking was very easy and quick. Our host communicated well and was very flexible and responsive. The eco hut is gorgeous. It’s light, opens to the outside with large glass folding doors, and private (can’t see other homes). We especially enjoyed the large deck, BBQ and well equipped kitchen. Fantastic location for exploring the Bay of Fires and Humbug Point. Will definitely stay again when we return.

Fantastic experience in a beautiful place!
The Eco-Hut is just beautifully presented, spotless and suitable for those that want to experience something unique. A very tranquil and beautiful environment creating a feeling that you have truly “escaped”. Loved the BBQ’s on the deck, the roaming wallabies at dusk and feeling of tranquility. Highly recommend it. We loved our stay at the eco hut.
The hut itself was great – such a cool and clever design, it was comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the beach but the hut is surrounded by bush and feels very private and secluded. Jan was really friendly, helpful and quick to reply, and everything was very well explained. The tips on what to do and where to eat in the area were great too. Would definitely recommend staying at the eco hut!

One of kind!
We loved staying at the Eco Retreat. Really one of a kind experience if you are looking to get away! However also 5 minute walk to one of the world’s most beautiful beaches – Binalong Bay! The decor and furnishing is tasteful and thoughtful. The best part was the local kookaburras surrounding the place! Definitely want to go back!
